Sculptural costume (fabrics; papier-mâché; foam, harness), lenticular print (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm)
song dynasty ○○ was the second collaboration with my immediate family: a ritualistic, circular procession of costumed Song members was documented at an outdoor location near the family home. In the exhibition context, a costume for two Song members became an artefact of an abstruse event, resisting precise location in either time or space. A lenticular print depicted the family outing, with Song members shifting from visibility to invisibility, depending on the viewing angle – intermittently occupying or deserting the landscape.
In 2020, a song dynasty ○○ video portrait surfaced on the songdynasty.life archive.
