✵may-may songuu✵

Solo exhibition commissioned by CFCCA, Manchester, 2020

✵may-may songuu✵ employs costumes, sculptures, growing specimens, animation, sound and large-scale drawings to create a story about the origins of food, and in turn, appetite, greed and consumption.

The telling of this story, across all elements of the installation, resists conventional language and familiar cultural reference points. Rather, this multi-layered narrative, interwoven with personal memories and relationships, occupies a mythical space between cultures, where the borders separating animals, vegetables, minerals and even entire worlds, begin to blur.
